Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Leadership Communication

Has anyone heard from their leadership regarding all this? Ours has been radio silent since the announcement email from Sarah came out.

Has anyone received ANY additional information from their leadership team?

I guess I expected a quick meeting, some type of update or check in, something.

I’m a VP and do not know anything beyond what everyone else already knows. I did pull my team together to answer their Qs or the very least, allow people to vent.

@af good luck getting a new job in this economy. The job market is tough out there. You’re taking one he-l of a roll of the dice if you apply for VSP and don’t have something already lined up or are not on the verge of retirement

Our supervisor has been silent. She was off last week for vacation when I was supposed to have my 1:1. We supposedly have a team meeting tomorrow but I wouldn't be surprised if it's canceled. I think it's poor leadership to just ignore what's going on but this sup has never been very good with communication.

My supervisor had a meeting with us immediately and let us know what they knew, which was not much, but they are very supportive and stated that they will remain transparent as they find out information.

No one knew anything. The last giant layoff was leaked beforehand. This was kept hush until they were ready to release it.

Our RVP was blindsided as well and discussed it during our team meeting.

When will be our last date is we accept and are approved? It would help people know when to give a start date for a new job.

Our supervisor has been great. She only knows what we know at this point but she’s been very supportive and it feels like she’s just on the same journey with us.

Our manager sent us an email today telling us to watch the video from yesterday. Nothing more.

Not one word. From my understanding it was a shock to them as well.

Corporate didn't give managers any advanced notice, information, or talking points. I heard that was an intentional decision, because they don't want managers in the middle of this personal decision. I think that's BS, that they just didn't prepare, but it's what I was told.

I had an optional meeting with my team and we just talked about things. Everyone is anxious. Worried about what the "restructure" will be like -- will we even still want our jobs? But ultimately we all have our own needs and risk tolerance, it's a personal choice.

My supervisor has been silent, didnt even acknowledge the emails. Makes sense since he needs us more than we need him. Without us, his position is useless!

I think it’s sad for those of us that have had zero communication. I get we’re all in the same boat but leadership 101 is talk to your people, support your people.

It’s being asked we do our jobs, I don’t think it’s too much to ask for some level of communication or support. So much for transparency.

Love seeing some people leaders or dept heads have opened the doors of communication!

Good luck to everyone on this decision whatever path you choose!

Our Sr Leader also had a meeting and was very transparent with everything currently known.

@OP we had a quick meeting to tell us they know nothing more than we do.

I have told my team that I know which is as much as them at this point. I will not hold it against them and if they want to take it I am supportive, but they should understand the current job market and talk it over with their family and a financial advisor first. As a leader I would hate to influence someone decision one way or the other and have them regret it either way because I under or over sold it.

Our direct leader very obviously knew nothing. Our Senior leader sent out an email yesterday stating that no one knew what was gonna happen yesterday was happening then and that not even the HR team was aware of the timing. Which explains why the Senior People Leader email looks rush in its verbiage. But other than that I know at least line staff leadership received the same VSP email we did today.

Our Senior Director has been extremely transparent and has had a huddle up meeting about it, as well as messaging the team through Teams to talk about it.
