Keep your head up. I know about 40 people that have been let go, and without a doubt, every single one of them is better off at new employees. I wouldn't be surprised that you were let go because they only have to pay you 1 month severance. Pretty cheap to remove a headcount.
@acph+1kvPjGT1 From the sounds of your situation you definitely work in SPS. You will be much better off in the long run.
I got the news today, my last day is 1/27. I’ve only been here for 6 months and they’ve decided to eliminate my position. I don’t know how my already overworked team is going to continue at the pace that’s being asked, now down a contributor. I’m of course disappointed, and a little embarrassed that this happened to me. My stepfather warned me before I accepted the job. He told me about the layoffs Honeywell seems to be known for. I should have listened. Of course I’m scared now that I’ve lost my job. I hope I can find something comparable; I have a month to figure it out before my severance ends. The thing is, I really did not enjoy working here and I’m partially relieved. I dreaded work every day. My matrix manager is so stressed out, he micromanages and handles difficult situations in the worst way-by lashing out. He’s smart, but he’s a terrible communicator.
I’m still in shock really, just can’t believe this happened to me so soon after starting the job. Losing 3 Directors since I started should have been a big red alert. It’s been a really rotten experience for me personally. Now for the next 2 weeks I have to keep my head up, put on a fake smile, finish outstanding work, hand projects over in a nice and tidy manner, and be as professional and positive as I can. It’s a really sh---y situation to be in. I wish anyone else going through a RIF the very best, and know you are not alone.
Not at all surprised. DS under managers are leaving at record levels because they cannot pay anyone a living wage.
My manager at engines said a furlough is expected sometime before summer. His intel is always pretty good. I plan to be gone by then. I am burning all the vacation I can, then hitting the eject button. Little do they know!
With the stock in freefall tank mode, the RIFs and furloughs will be speeded up I'm sure. No other way for this top-heavy can't do anything anymore company.
D&S president (RF) #2 guy either steps down, or more likely fired. What does that say to all the others in D&S org? Mad Dog (CEO) is relentless in destroying this once huge money maker. Nice when on the first day back you get the ‘new roster’ email! Put me in coach!
@1lux+1kvPjGT1 Beginning of the end!
Was the list related to the D&S leadership?
Seems that action was quick and just wondering if it is the end or beginning.
Seems like the aero leadership got the first rounds of RIF. That was a long list of “taking other opportunities” that went out today.
SPS is working on many rooftop reduction projects, so the RIFs are coming soon enough.
18 months of overdriving revcog programs in aero with little acceleration of deliveries (aka — Rob Peter to pay Paul strategy) will leave aero in deep trouble come Q3. Maybe earlier depending on when the hammer falls. Meanwhile helicopter engine development comes to a screeching stop with no customer.
Yeah.. I’m looking forward to some mandatory summer vacation time off for “mental health reasons”
