Years ago layoffs were the last thing companies did before shuttering. Layoffs were shameful to companies. Now they're a way to increase shareholder profit. If you have to lay people off to impress shareholders, that's not management, it's mismanagement, and it's nothing to be proud of. Glad I could have this candid conversation with courage.
