Thread regarding Synopsys Inc. layoffs

My peers at Nvidia and Micron ate drowning in money

Even after working on solutions that these mega logos depend on we are no where close in reaching ¼ of their revenue.

I even feel that the ip business will die a slow painful death

Sorry for being pessimistic, this whole AI BS is taking a toll on me

Like wtf are we even doing wrong, are we doomed ?

Are we on the right track even ?

Many long-tenured employees have remained with the company for years, often accepting a "loyalty penalty" where their compensation falls below market rates.

Unfortunately, following trends in other fast-paced companies, the company now appears to be targeting these foundational employees for layoffs. In doing so, management conveniently ignores that these foundational workers have been underpaid for years, even as peers at faster-paced companies earn multiple times their total compensation.

This shift raises serious ethical concerns. If you have the opportunity to find employment elsewhere, it may be wise to accept a new offer. Synopsys no longer appears committed to treating its workforce with the care and respect it once did.

Samsung recently announced in may to pay the equiv of 300kUSD to all(?) employees, selected ones even more, to avoid larger strikes.
Slightly above my bonus here ;-)

Total comp su-ks around here lately, yet they want us to be grateful to still be employed here.
If this continues we will see a mass exodus as some of the other shops are hiring big time.

I feel so much underpaid compared to my workload and peers. The grass seems greener on the other side of the river. Does everyone feel like that?
