The rest of the tech world is now concerned about AI and its expense. Tokenmaxing is over. Industry is pivoting back to people. But what is CDW telling the street? That they will save 200M by using AI. Not likely, and late. What is CDW telling employees? "USE AI!! AI forward everyone" The amount of useless AI output is a major hidden cost in both tokens and time. Just wait until Q2 and Q3 to see the surprise token expense hit the bottom line.

People can downvote the pro-Ai posts all they want...doesn't change REALITY that people that are smarter than you have invested and spent over a trillion $ + into Ai and DC's.
Machine learning and quantum computing are also merging with Ai and that's the future.
Oh well...ex CDW coworker just giving some advice so you all don't have to stress about working for someone who gives two craps about you or your family or fellow coworkers as can be seen by all the layoff posts today.
Let me tell you all something Ai won't... there will be MORE layoffs. CDW isn't done trimming the fat and you'll start seeing people that have been solid leaders for years starting to be included (you can already see directors are getting cut now).
Don't hate the messenger. I was just a d-mb AM...what do I know. But I'm not the one stressing about a job or money. Health is #1 and the stress CDW causes currently isn't worth the $200-300k I was slaving to earn.

Not to bring politics into this but when liberal lefties are protesting against data centers being built (the ones that you can't tell the gender and look like they smell) you know that tech will progress and take over since these people are scared the barista jobs will get replaced by bots.
Maybe my Starbucks coffee won't cost a much as 3 gallons of gas once those $20 dollar an hour coffee pourers get replaced.

Ai is like the dot com where everyone is positioning to lead the space.
Some companies will not exist and some will advance just like the dot com Era BUT the internet didn't go away and has advanced from AOL dial up to it being on demand on your phone (not Nokia brick phones).
You either learn to use Ai for your advantage or you get left behind.

I for one saw everything coming and invested and no longer need to work ever again.
Same thing with Crypto... I don't personally use it but see some of the pro's driving demand where early adopters made out big.

Yes, AI is a new market. But 90% of IT isn't tied to AI. And the drive for AI is top down, but look from bottom up and it is a hearty meh. You still need to focus on everything else, along with AI.

Ai is literally embedded and marketed with current desktops and laptops and we have coworkers against Ai advancing.

Ai isn't even fully utilized to its potential.
It can augment actual decent workforce to handle more and the people coasting will be exposed via metrics. You can see everything being tracked and that'll enable easy seperation for performance. Ai will augment doctors to spot issues long before detectable to human eye...etc etc. It's being used in military via autonomous vehicles/drones or linked to satellite.
Those thinking Ai is all hype have no clue. But can't layoff 25% or more or whatever is the final % of the population because it'll cause more unrest with the masses. Ai and robots can replace any delivery person once it's all worked out. Be worried.
Can CDW help "sell Ai" is another story but they sure can utilize it to speed up AR/AP, cust service, maybe even cases and SF etc etc. Tightening up costs, resetting, pushing marketing with sponsorships to world events....could help turn shares around. Other companies are slowly implementing and having layoffs as well. Interesting to see what happens.
And tokens and tokenizing is entrepreneurs recovering development costs and making it a business like other subscription licensing etc. They'll tweak Ai and models and people will pay of they want to utilize it for a competitive advantage. It's already in apps and software you're using.
I don't believe the talk of bubble. I do see lots of people protesting new data centers and these things aren't built for no reason.
From my experience only, working at other companies. Appears CDW is about several years behind vs other places. Particularly to leadership style. Systems, as long as it works and functions properly it is fine. However, all the advancement in tech and processes has created a substantially amount of work for the front line. Which goes back to hiring people with no skills or experiences to do functions, only to find out they were hired because those individuals su-ked up or friends in high places. I got in trouble in some years ago explaining with examples and time stamps, how a task was took longer. I got in trouble for it and was forced to apologize. Both those individuals are no longer with the company. I know one of the individuals were forced to quit and CDW actually helped them find a new job.
This one example was just proof of everything anyone on here speaks about.
If CDW layoffs die to AI, amd start hiring people back like ex coworkers. It gives substantially weight on those individuals to come back with a higher salary. However, I dont think our leaders understand how much money they are spending. However, the more you make is more you spend. Makes you wonder if any of our leaders know how to budget in theor own personal lives.
