Thread regarding Freddie Mac layoffs

Stress

How do you navigate working for a leader who consistently deflects responsibility when things go wrong, portrays themselves as the person holding the organization together, and repeatedly singles out one or two employees for criticism until they eventually they leave or get fired as a cause of this set up. Abusive or demeaning language in private but present themselves as professional in public. How do I protect myself from this gaslighting? Very shameful.

@am Agreed. It su-ks but for the most part unless something drastically changes the same people will continue to make the work experience miserable. At this point some can deal with it or have no choice, while others will make it miserable for everyone else and hope they quit or take another job...and then they don't get a severance which I think what FHFA want.

Experienced this heavily on my first team while under SFA.
Ask ur manager if there are any other open opportunities around Freddie!!

Get a different job at a different place of business.

Seriously.

If what you described has been allowed to fester and continue, despite others who've been mistreated similarly, who have either been driven out or left of their own accord, then obviously such gaslighting and workplace bullying is part of this company's culture, and isn't going to be reined in or stopped.

So the sensible response is to find a better place to work.
No one deserves to be subjected to such unprofessionalism and outright abuse.
Find a way out, then leave.
