@cz This sounds like a job description for a vp at bp

@d2 I don’t think that the Serpa snake will wind up in that SVP role. Granted she has been around for AGES and AGES, she has already been in a region presidents role, and a wells VP for the North Sea and Alaska.
She messed up in the North Sea role and they shipped her off to Alaska where she did her famous “slap/chop” in cutting the Organisation to bare bones before going to Houston where it has been nothing but chaos and mayhem.
She staffed up the Organisation heavy after reinvent, became a “say yes to everything VP”, then cut a lot of great people while drinking the “#Punehasgreatengineers kool-aid”…

Our problem for the last several years has been overpopulation in MOST areas of the firm. And of course, overpopulation is terrible for the ecosystem. We can comfortably cull 30% of the herd. Across the board. The old, the lame and the dim are at high risk. That would be many of you, my loyal followers.

I’ve heard 40% across any central team.

GBs email today praises all the successes over the past year or two. But bp share price has lagged so much, who is accountable for that. Leadership, and most of them are in place or even promoted in the new org. MGal and VPhi being passed over for LJP shows that they will be passed over again and LS will be next SVP.

I have been fooled by the koolaid from bp over the years. Leadership are in it for themselves VPs at D make about $1mm including options, and their musical chair game that rewards underperformance ensures they take care of each other no matter which one of them gets promoted. In order to maintain their pay, they don’t care about people or revenues. A billion less in revenue makes no difference to them or the markets. But the drama and pretension they maintain by gaslighting everyone around them allows them to hide and scapegoat others.

It would be nice to know what the redundancy target is. What is the percentage of staff that will be severed?
