Thread regarding BP PLC layoffs

BPX to be divested?

Will MO divest BPX an asset she has already divested in a previous lifetime as CEO of Woodside?

Shell unloaded their 50% share in Na Kika before bp had a chance to.

There are many more assets in BP portfolio should be sold before bpx. Such as north sea, M&S, you name it

BP America needs BPX to survive. BPX is too critical ro be sold and is BP strategic asset in North America.

@ab BP would cease to exist if they sold BP America.

@OP second time I’ve seen this comment. But MO hadn’t even merged bhp petrol to woodside when bpx was sold? They merged in 2022, the bpx deal was closed in 2018 (the year she joined woodside). She never sold bpx.

Also bpx is about half of bp US production, and the more effective production co in the us. A bp America sale is more likely than a sole bpx sale, strategically. Neither option makes much sense if you’re trying to grow.

Before BPX divestment. Hoping for BPX to preempt the sale of NaKika from Shell to Talos. BP needs to double down and go solo just like it’s doing with Kaskida
