Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Calling on any Leaders in the Know!!

Any Leaders in the know. We only have one more day to accept or decline can you add any insight into why the email was sent today suggesting not to apply unless you were wanting to exit the company (in BOLD). I know many on here could use more clarification. by confused Onecenteamer

@an "all at once" that is why VSP has language to let people know the company will be deciding the actual separation date and they have not put out any clues as to when that other date could be if not permitted to leave 1st week of September.

That later date could be weeks or many months later depending on the department and role. They are not paying out money AND letting people choose when to leave.

I don't believe the company is overly worried about "all at once" since they opened VSP to just about every employee.

That senior leader doesn’t know the number either, not even for their particular market.

The number of people who have signed up for the VSP has exceeded what the company budgeted for. Listen carefully—they want people to leave, just not all at once.

Remember, they need this to happen in a controlled manner: let some people go, have the remaining employees take on the extra work, and then, once they start to crack under the pressure, send them packing as well.

Take a look at the post from earlier today by a senior leader mentioning a 20% across-the-board reduction. Don't get confused—the VSP is still the best option.

Unless you live in a state with strong unemployment benefits and robust worker protections, most of you are in at-will employment states with limited unemployment benefits. From the outside, it's becoming increasingly clear that mass layoffs are going to happen.

@a2 doesn't seem like 20 or even 10 % want to take the VSP. One or maybe two people on my team are thinking about taking it and another rather large team I know of zero are taking it. It will be interesting to see when this is all done

That email was BS!!!! I believe they can already see who clicked the VSP acceptance box and there were too many. It's all about money. They were covering their as--s!! Period.

You don't need to be a leader to understand that when your employer offers a VSP to the vast majority of its staff, you should heed that message, take the offer, and get the F out of there. Use your brain for 2 seconds for gods sake
