Global Mobility - still a pain?

Taking all PTO together this year but it’s not enough for my needs. I need an extra week or two - manager says they can permit remote work if it’s a short duration but with RTO 5x from Sep 1, I’m worried 😟 This is for North America.

Will HR & Global Mobility need to get involved? Any recent success stories of folks who have navigated this?

Peep the accomodation form.
They do have means to approve about 2 weeks. But you need a manager you can trust to do it.

If it's medical may want to see if that can be used as well. Aside from that, extra time off may be unpaid.

The concern from the other person is valid though, if you can vanish for over a month and people miss you, you're probably fine. If they barely notice you're gone? Might accidentally volunteer yourself for layoffs later. Only protected leaves guarantee your job once you're back, and anything can happen after that.
