Also to note - the "severance" is being handled completely impersonally - I got let go with a 10minute zoom 1-on-1 with my manager's boss, no HR representative... and a few automated emails from Docusign. I've been let go due to layoffs before, and was always offered counseling or ongoing help or communication from HR - but this time... nothing but form letters with my name inserted.
For a company that prides themselves on their "people", this layoff is very far from that.
Funny enough, when I was hired I was told that Five9 "has never done and will hopefully never do" layoffs - that they "valued every single employee"... and since then, there have been 6 rounds of layoffs. And from the sound of the threads here.. the layoff trend may continue.
