Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Will RTO leniency be given to those impacted by wildfire smoke?

My son had a minor asthma attack tonight. In Minneapolis, we've been advised to shut windows, turn off air conditioners so that we can breathe inside our own homes and avoid going outside. The heat index is expected to be in the upper 90's tomorrow. The current air quality index is 520 (hazardous). Downtown parking is limited and taking public transportation requires standing outside, waiting for the bus/lightrail and the walking several blocks to get to the office.

It's incredible to me that we have had to normalize and navigate new infectious pathogens, violent government occupations of our cities and global warming events such as this and yet the MC requires us to strictly adhere to 1990's style work requirements.

I've been following the rules. I dress business casual, take the bus downtown or pay $20 a day for parking, walk a few blocks and then I sit alone and interact with no one except the clerk at the nearby coffee shop for the entire time I'm there. I don't work with a single person at my hub. And I work in STEM, so there's no reason whatsoever for me to be there if none of my coworkers are there. The time, effort and money it costs me to go sit by myself, under florescent lights in a mostly empty office space feels at the very least absurd and at most, intentionally cruel.

I already know the MC won't address this or show that they care in any way. This might be the last straw for me. I can't take one more obstacle in the way of simply doing the job I was hired to do. I'm a single parent, the air outside is hazardous and I'm currently stressing about meeting my RTO metrics for July. This is beyond stupid. It's malicious.

There was a protest and people dying in Minneapolis, we had to still go meet RTO. I doubt MC will care.

OP, people manager here. Consult with your manager. If they have half a brain they can figure out a solution for you. It’s not that complicated. I’ve done it many times for my team. But do keep in mind that reducing employee count in USA and bumping it up in India is the ultimate goal. Given that you are in STEM I would suggest redirecting your efforts in finding your next job elsewhere so you don’t have to put up with this BS.

For sure! Ready to, just as soon as you stop your incessant bootlicking.

Do let me know if you ever become capable.

MC doesn’t care about employees health or expenses. We all know that when they started enforcing rto. We are treated as numbers and nothing more unfortunately.

The last thing this company is giving any of us is grace now that the MC's brains are infected with Indification mind virus.

Why do anything for us or for our health when a billion Anand Gutpta Rapeyhands Awagestealindra Gupi Gupti RajtasticVisaFraud cousins/castemates of theirs are waiting in the wings?

The only solution will be our beloved rednecks when we've finally had enough. They'll save us. We know how but it's unspeakable, yet true real actual Americans won't object & can see the writing on the wall.

I have popcorn, can't wait!

The manager article about the policy gives managers leeway to give you up to two weeks work from home without any paperwork. And it's up to them at the end of the month to explain that to the higher-ups why your number is lower. This assumes the manager is good and has character and actually reads the articles. I'm surprised how many managers don't even have a clue of the articles exist. And of course a lot of managers are su-k ups to upper management so they will be bootlickers like some of the people you see below here. This path exists but you just can't keep using it all the time. Definitely not more than once in a year.

If you want up to 3 months for non-medical then you need to get approval from leaders above you through a request in my HR.

If you want a medical accommodation that goes through reliance matrix and HR.

@a4 $11 per day isn’t better. That is insane that you have to pay that much to park at work. Sounds like RTO is an initiative to stimulate the surrounding economy by spending money.

Probably not. This is why they offer you the flexibility. Make up the in office days, by working 5 days in office the next two weeks. $20 for parking? There are several ramps that offer rates less that that including The government center parking(next to plaza) which is $11
