Didn't speak to me for the entire 10 business days. I already knew I made the right decision to leave, but that just cemented it. Been away for two months and never been happier. Folks, there are places with normal managers and better culture if you're willing to leave your comfort zone.

Congratulations on your soon to be announced departure, that is if you are making the decision and this is what you want. I dont wish you a layoff, but I am happy you are getting out on your own decision.
I think Chevron is a great company but the future of employment in the USA is dismal. I have been at Chevron over 25 years and I feel sorry for my coworkers that have been at Chevron <20 years and are still in their 40's. still with young kids and college bills to pay in <10 years.
The opportunities to grow and contribute are few and far between. I am in a great job with plenty of intellectual growth but internally the careeer growth is near 0. Fortunately for me, I can take a layoff and retire early, my kids are grown and on there own. But, the mid career people are at a disadvantage for sure. They will not have jobs in 5+ years and they will be even older to reenter the workforce post AI.

My manager saved a guys job and took in him to our team based upon the recommendation of a GM, then the guy posted in the measely PDC that occurred in May/June. We trained the guy for a year and now he bolted leaving us short a team member and I know people that were qualified and were let go and a couple others that had to move out of Houston to take jobs in other states. I am happy for teh guy that posted out but we are short staffed and will have trouble back filling the position with the announcment of "No Future PDC's" from LC a few weeks ago.

If you don't know the answer, then you have never worked here.
@bv There is no loyalty in this company employee relationship. They will drop you without a doubt.
Be glad employees are leaving and saving your job. They are not being replaced.
Don’t sweat it. You will never have to see these people again. They don’t hesitate to layoff thousands of people so why would you care? Everyone’s looking out for themselves
Does CVX offer a participation trophy?
Did your manager save your a@@ when he could have kept someone else? Someone just as qualified as you? Then you quit about a year in? Heck yeah, I’d be mad too I made the wrong choice.
@OP
If willing/comfortable to disclose. TechCo, OpCo, or CorpDept? HOU or other?
Sorry your manager was upset with you. Why? Employees have been leaving for months. Wondering as I plan to give notice also. I expect it to be awkward.
Every place that I've ever worked initially was absolutely amazing and seemed to have exceptional management and personnel for the first few months or year until I came to realize you know what. Live and learn.
Awesome. Hope you find a "Comfort Zone" where you can get all safe and comfy somewhere else that has that special culture that you crave. Oh, wait,, that makes no sense......
Bye bye. Thanks for playing with us today
