As someone who wasn’t affected by this transformation, I find this little gathering cold and heartless.
The photo op from the smiling executive team is like pouring salt into an open wound.
Didn’t they admit morale was low? This event and subsequent post in the company feed does not help.
Zero emotional intelligence.
It still amazes me that people bothered showing up for this circus — all for free food, another chance to brown‑nose to the IOL MC, and an opportunity to brag about how ‘awesome’ they are because they were chosen to stay on this sinking ship. If this was supposed to boost morale or foster camaraderie, it was an epic failure. Nothing about it changes anything. It just proves the company will resort to pathetic, performative stunts to convince the world that this so‑called transformation is rosy, when everyone inside knows it’s rotting from the core.
The only "Networking" people should be focusing on is Networking to another job before you get outsourced and let go.

Totally get it and felt the same way BUT, some of your close friends are continuing. While no’s like us may be disgruntled, your continuing friends need optimism and comradely.
We ‘no’s’ have to understand they’re not part of the future state. Let’s not punish those staying with our own negativity.

Agreed. It’s one thing to have the get-together, and I can even kind of understand why they did it. But posting the article about it with the smiling pictures seemed incredibly tone deaf.
