To be clear, L3 Harris is not a defense contractor. L3 Harris buys defense contractors and puts them under its banner. It takes credit for what other companies have done, and takes credit for what those employees have done. Then, to return value to their stakeholders, they reduce benefits and pay for the employees of the companies they have purchased. They introduce their ridiculous methodology which runs those companies into the ground in just a couple of years. They once again return value to their investors by selling off the wreckage. Then they move on to another company and do the same thing. If there are layoffs at L3 Harris it is because they are intended and planned well in advance. If you have long-term plans for a career in this industry, you would do well to stay away from this company.

the Kube sucks. Imagine getting caught having a fling with your secretary and canned from LMCO and ending up like this guy...
What do they really do?
L3 used to be a holding company until Kubasik merged with Harris. Now it is a overly bureaucratic, woke, slow moving corporation that has been saying for the last 5 years (Kubasik at L3) that they are going to be a prime contractor and compete with the big boys like Raytheon. Who else would get 5 years to spew a bunch of verbal promises to Wall Street about being a Prime and yet we have only received one (less than $700 million) contract to be the Prime. Kubasik's strategy is basically to sell off divisions like link and SDS and now Greenville and the IS sector only to buy Aerojet. So basically we used to be a $15b corporation and now 5 years later we are a $12b corporation and the only A&D company who has a negative stock value out of the top 10 A&D companies. Go woke, go broke.
"Raises" lower than the inflation rate.
If only you knew what they really do.
