Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

The Chips Act is about TMG

The rest should get spun off as different companies with their IPOs.
TMG will become the immortal Federal Bureau of Integrated circuits.
The PC group will be comparable to AMD
Total combined market value will be 3X of today's, at least.

"Fabs are not ready for external customers"

Who cares after selling it to the Congress?
Let AOC figure it out.

"Design team is not ready for TSMC "

Fire anyone who says this.
How hard can it be to route a f-- chip with everything that TSMC provides?

Design team is not ready for TSMC

Fabs are not ready for external customers

A split at this time would be disastrous

Pat’s buying time to make this eventual split happen.

TMG is a broken organization as is LTD the whole industry has changed in scale and need.

The core culture of the Intel fabs and systems were built on IDM service of a single line of x86 and a few line items if server and client and maybe SoC chipsets and others. The same can be said of LTD and how they tailor process, DR and features.

Neither organization knows how to service a multitude of customer and needs. I am sure they talk like they do, but they have no clue after seeing how they work and their competition.

A taxpayer supported TMG is justifiable. Supporting the rest is not.
Being the new Kissinger, Pat knows.
