Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Age Discrimination is alive and well

I understand the company doesn't want to loose younger employees and older ones will take a lot of abuse and not leave because of the pension - but they have de-moralized their most experienced employees by turning the tables and giving the good technical leadership positions to <10 year employees, while the 20-30 year employees are left to grovel for scraps.

What goes around comes around - if you are one of those younger employees - look around and see how the senior employees are treated - that will be you someday.

DEI is 💯 in conflict with the Civil Rights Act and EEOC laws and is the real threat to Corporate liability. Read the laws! Ignorance does not mean it doesn't exist! It is currently being violated! Just because everyone is doing it, it doesn't mean it is legal!

Like many other companies, XOM knew that I&D doesn’t make us stronger even though they made their employees repeat the chant. Like other companies, XOM is realizing that the I&D failure can’t be hidden in bad times and there is nothing racist or illegal about hiring the best candidate.

The BMT "plan" is working. Out with the old and in with the new. In a couple of weeks the new organization will be announced. The "plan" includes that BMT is to revert back to a majority white male dominated leadership sprinkled in with the minimum amount of diversity candidates. To help their numbers, they have now decided that a female that is not white is counted twice in their I&D reporting numbers.

100%. Have they protected themselves from a class action lawsuit though?

Anyone aware of any law firm willing to take this on or is the corp legal barriers too much to tackle.
