Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Voluntary Redundancy

So, our group has just been told that none of us are affected by the layoffs. Tbh I was really hoping I would be one of the ones cut. Does anyone know if there will be an option of voluntary redundancy? It's not something I'd broach with my manager without being sure.

If you have a good / ok relationship with you manager you can bring it up casually that if the option came up that you would be ok with leaving if you got a severance. Your manager will read between the lines the next time they have to do a WFR.

Funny thing is companies found out those who want to go are the ones they want to keep

so no volunteers

i would recommend not to talk to your manager about it until after feb is over. pay raises discussions are coming out soon and if they know your wanting to leave you may not get the raise you could have.

I wish they offered a voluntary option, it would save some of the jobs for people that want to stay.
