Minimum cost to fire a CEO $30M. Now folks who's going to pay for that? What is 't's $50M? No, it's better to keep a steady hand to steward HON through these challenging times. Call DC, maybe he's got extended family's to continue the next decade of extracting another $100M of cash out of HON to the holdings of the trust off shore. Yea it's cheaper to keep him another year or 2, until the bigger plan falls into place.
But keeping on cr-p c-suite people will cost more in the long run...

Agreed, these corportations have highly-paid and highly-educated analysts and C-suite people. They are supposed to be great at forecasts. This is failure at the top.
