Intel wants 10 bln euros of government funding for plant in Germany -Handelsblatt

Intel (INTC.O) has provided the German economy ministry with a new calculation for a planned chip factory in the city of Magdeburg that considers almost 10 billion euros ($10.74 billion) of government funding to be necessary, business daily Handelsblatt reported on Wednesday, citing government sources.

Can’t see the Germans being this desperate or lacking in self respect to agree to this , especially given Intel’s weak position right now. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a bluff my Intel; Germany says no and Intel scarp their manufacturing plans in Germany . TSMC waiting in the wings. The wheels are coming off I am afraid

Ridiculous... Groveling for more handouts while Biden is saying Intel is adding 10,000 jobs at $130K a piece in Ohio during his state of the union address last night... Is there no shame?

This is as close to public works hand out as there is. Give me money to keep me ability to talk about my fantasy’s plans as an IDM and IFS.

Ignore the fact my core business is in collapse and can’t be competitive as well as I don’t have ecosystem, nor whale customers to fill my fantasy fabs. Please give me the money as I cut my worlds pay, pay six BILLION dollars a year ro my stock holders, money please
