The moment this layoff round is done, we'll have to start worrying about the next one. Everybody is having multiple rounds within months or even weeks of each other, so why would Dell be any different? I think this whole year will be like that. I have to say, I'm not looking forward to it one bit.

@vst+1l6ydtUK Dell has matured a lot since 2012. They’re a little less bad at rapid scale up and scale down on employees and the perpetual re-org has gotten less crazy. But the basic idea is still there.
I worked at Dell 2002-2012. One of the constants "back in the day" were the quarterly layoffs. Some big, some not so big, but there was some type of reorganization and layoff every quarter. Sounds like nothing has changed.
That’s the circle of life in high tech, lay-off the lower % every year, rehire with open reqs, shake it all down again in another year…rinse and repeat work life cycle.
Many have been experiencing this for many years.

speak for yourslf. i was hoping to me on the list so i can walk away from this mess and take a sabbatical
but i will secretly yearn for each and every round. give me the money!
maybe you should seek a therapist since you are having a hard time with this
