Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Layoffs and Termination

I worked for Verizon for over a decade and saw a friend of mine get terminated for violating code of conduct act during the layoffs. It’s interesting how they said it was standard however I’ve seen other team members receiving written warnings for the same behavior. This employee was a dedicated well respected but let go for something that can’t even be proven. Verizon is inconsistent with ther displinary actions and if your not a part of the right circle will disregard you like trash. They don’t care about the family’s of the employees they destroy. They should be sued for their i consistent practices.

Never anonymous when reporting stuff. They will come after you and they do talk because they love sharing what was said about each other.

I know of a co-worker who thought they could "anonymously" report their immediate Sales manager to the Code of Conduct group. His Sales Manager was borderline incompetent, but was one of the few female Sales Manager, she was never engaged but utilized one of her direct reports, who she had worked with for years, and who was your typical corporate kiss a** and in complete unison with her to keep her informed of the customer key issues, ongoing team issues, etc... What was the result? This co-worker was RIF'd within 2-months of reporting her outrageous behavior.
As we all know, "anonymous" is never such and in my experiences, Verizon "Leadership" policy is "do as I say, not as I do".
