The Director and obove hired from outside are completely useless and ignorant about the business and the working of C1, they think C1 is at par with big tech whereas it is nowhere close, they are just imposing the structure and way of working of Amazon on C1 without realizing that each company is unique . These people have nothing to offer than the stupid processes of Amazon. The ML of C1 sucks the charge off have increased. There are other layoffs in the pipeline.

Gosh. There are soo many alcoholics anonymous chapters in Richmond and McLean and all over Virginia. It's eye opening.

So the drunk management is using stack rankings to remove employees who are a threat, so they don't get fired, and have a background and dr-g test done on them by new employers. Makes sense to me.
Or the pressure of the stacking rankings twice a year led them to abuse dr-gs and alcohol. Then they're running on a hamster wheel to not get fired themselves.
This is the same poster who mentioned the who's who at the AA meetings. I want to be clear, I have no idea who it was at those meetings. No names were ever mentioned, just that there were so many people from the company who were seeking treatment for either alcohol, coke or whatever other substances they had and realized were a problem in their lives. And I will say it again, I have a lot of admiration for those who realized they had a problem and had the courage and the determination to seek help!
While you may want to single Capital One out as a place full of drunks, I would not. I think substance abuse is just a fact in society in general. My tale is of those who were meeting their demons head on and working on them!
The story about the AA meetings at Richmond rings true.
Can you imagine a leading financial company's leadership is basically a bunch of drunks protecting their turf at all costs. Isn't that a security risk to the country?
I think SEC should audit them on these grounds. AOC?
A former employee who quit drinking many years ago, attended AA meetings in Richmond. This person told me that the meetings were a who's who at Capital One. Does this company attract folks with substance abuse issues or does it drive them to substance abuse issues? Kudos to all the folks who sought out treatment for their problems. I just found this interesting considering what has been said in this thread.
Funny comment about auto sales. But that's not what this is about.
Employees at director and above are subject to stringent background checks. And they have lots of DUIs since they first joined C1. If they leave they will need to go through the same background check again. I think if they wait more than a year to come back.
Hence they are motivated to stay, and get rid of newcomers who are more talented.
haha you must be in auto sales
My experience says the entrenched c1 experts don't understand new technology and want to hang on to their jobs since they are jaded.
They gang up against newcomers because they can't compete. The spotlight, kudos and calibration systems help them do this.
And, some of them are really serial drink, with multiple DUIs to their name. They won't get another job in a similar role in another company if they l have to pass a background check.
Ignorant because they have biases about employees such as their real contribution and how to use technology the right way.
"There are layoffs in the pipeline". This indicates less employees and meets the goals of the company. Why is this "ignorant management"?
agreed an AWS wannabe and their use of it is a joke
