Thread regarding Hertz layoffs

Horrific restructure and communication

I’ve never seen such poor communication and decision making as what has happened since the restructure.
Change in leadership has devalued the culture and integrity the company once had. Promotions do not happen no matter how skilled you are. Layoffs occur with no warning and not communicated to the rest of the company. Leadership is very weak and they’re taking huge salaries and bonuses while not paying employees a fair wage. Senior Leadership and Human Resources treat employees as disposable resources.
The past year has been very turbulent, with a major acquisition and the subsequent restructuring (read: layoffs) causing massive employee turnover and low morale.
There is no company “culture” to speak of.

What do you need for more communication? Rent and return a car, make money, be nice to the customers and each other. Not hard people. You are so precious that you need to be included in the discussion. The corporate culture is not your business. Focus on running 97%-99% utilization and quit complaining. Focus your energy on where it needs to be.
Snowflakes need to leave and let the real workers get it done.

Total chaos across all teams! People are all worried about their jobs! In true Hertz fashion those most unqualified but most connected are getting promotion! We all saw how great that worked the last 3 years!

So I see nothing has changed. Culture has always been about who was the favorite or looked the part and not who was most qualified. Look back now at those people all are no longer in their roles as eventually they find out you are not qualified.

Our region just recently promoted a finance manager, a maintenance manager, and a small market GM. While all candidates seem to be nice none of them have any experience in their current roles. Nor do they have the degrees or certifications in their respective new roles.

Admins report to Finance now, not GMs.
