@bew+1lK2oZyL the benefit of that site. Is that it is close to Pennsylvania. Which most Research Techs resides. The ones that are in NJ are relatively high rank
Most of the chem degree and research tech salary at Exxon are better than most competition. As some of the senior research tech go around $40 an hour. Where as Exxon provides $43 an hour plus pension.
Dear @bzh+1, do you live in NJ? Do you know the cost of living in that state?
Jersey isn't cheap. Just because an NJ tech salary sounds high for other areas like TX, you have to remember the ratio of pay to cost of living.
Just like any job anywhere, there are probably some techs that get easy money not doing much there. And then there are other techs who work themselves to death because they're doing the job of 2-3 people.
Go find out your worth? If you're that bothered by it then you can see real quick if you're paid fairly
