Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Are you getting all your personal files off your work laptop?

I hope for the best, but I'm preparing for the worst.

Things I wished I had taken: documents that would have helped with my resume, like LDEP and past performance reviews. Information related to benefits. Some of it is on the benefits site, but not all. If you are an LL6+, print out the letter that proves you had auto insurance for the past nn years. Start connecting with people on LinkedIn before you get fired. Networking will help you get your next job.

Just have netflix and youtube links with some viruses onboard.
Other than that nothing left here.

Be sure to print off (downloading might throw up some flags) prior years PRs and any HR/benefits related information that isn't accessible on myfordbenefits.

Why are you storing personal information on company assets in the first place? If anything if you’re WFH you should put that thing on a guest network. It’s common sense none or it will be private.

All BS. Everything comes down to the point " If your boss a friend of yours". Talent and Hardwork comes after that.

So, a friend who works at one of the other OEM's had their laptop stolen on a business trip recently. Went and picked up his replacement laptop, turned it on and literally every single file was right where he left them. It even saved the Wi-Fi password for his home network!
The fact they can restore an entire computer overnight proves unequivocally that they are mirroring your ENTIRE computer, hard drive, settings, history, everything! Kinda scary but sorta nice if your laptop gets stolen or destroyed.
NEVER EVER EVER use your work computer for anything other than work - Big Brother is watching!!

Never store personal files on company property, or browse questionable websites or play games on company owned computers. Ge-z, use common sense.

NEVER keep anything personal (that you don't want IT and possibly your manager) to read! Companies do use spyware and the bigger the company is, the more heavily they will rely on it. I think of it this way. Everything I do on the work computer, my manager is standing behind me, watching and taking notes.
I say again, NEVER keep anything on your work computer that you don't want the company to see!
