Don't like it leave free country. If you are staying and hate it obviously it's because you suck and can't get a job elsewhere. Tons of jobs out there . Oh wait why not go to CNRL I hear they treat their employees really well 😜

@5ufw+1lMoOfT1 Yes! Couldn’t have articulated it better, and it’s just too bad that board members are in bed with the exec and other investors don’t see this. You skim off the entire 2 layers off the top and the company will still run itself. The people who actually work don’t have the titles or the pay, they’re just quietly working hard to run the company. Where is good shareholder activism when you need it?

AP, JM and DZ have made $36.3M, $14.6M and $10.4M respectively over the past three years. I guess you just don't get what you pay for any more.

@2lab+1lMoOfT1 you’re definitely one of the handful that keeps getting promoted and rotated and you’re doing it on the backs of those who lift you up. So shut up.
As for management and culture, I’ll just say this - there’s a very specific reason that this company only succeeds because of high WTI and even then share price is massively depressed compared to peers with similar market cap. So yes, JM was a poor choice for CEO but that transaction was done in 2020 with HongKong, and even if he now has the opportunity to turn things around the fact that AP is sticking around collecting dollars under a lame reason (“I’m staying because investors like me”) which is why HC stays around collecting big dollars (“because JM actually can’t think for himself and needs me around even if I serve no purpose”) and why they keep loudmouth talkers like DZ around. Why NR has been around this long.
Then they say they need to give JA the opportunity to be in a humbling role because he’s so arrogant and such a bully, so they give him the easiest job - say 1 sentence every quarter on the call and then fly around with the CEO on a private jet as his peon….
Yeah this is a grrrrreaaat company and the people are working soooooo hard to make it even greater. Pfpfpf.

I heard the integration with HSE changed the CVE environment, otherwise, CVE has been a good place before the merge happened. This is unfortunate, but I also heard the same story ... HSE was a sunken ship ...

It doesn't help that only a small clique of individuals gets promoted and rotated through roles while the rest of us are employed just to be the audience to their career progression.

What makes Cenovus bad is a bad management. Z and others. Hence poor culture, with a mix of Husky culture, the company that failed in all respects.
Money is good, morale is low, people are selfish.

Is CVE this much bad, regardless of their paycheques? Just out of curiosity would like to know is it worth applying for jobs at CVE if anythings come up. I have a secure job and quite good salary elsewhere. I know people receive relatively higher salaries in CVE, but we all know at the end of the day there is not much difference between 120k or 150k, and if CVE this much awful place then maybe not worth applying. Work ethics , work environment are fairly important to me, and affect my modes a lot. Would like to know your honest review please.

If you hate it please leave. There are a lot of people working hard to make CVE successful.

just wait it out... if enough dog/husky people get into leadership they'll run Cenovus into the ground like they did husky. Then we'll get bought out by a bigger company, they'll be huge rounds of layoffs (like CVE did to husky) and then you'll get your package and you can leave...

Quit! Or wait it’ll get better once the Husky folks take charge.

Of course you hate it. It’s an unethical sweatshop company. Worst in town.
