Thread regarding Ford layoffs

GM white collar salaried employees who accept the GM buyout by tomorrow's deadline wil be coming to Ford after accepting job offers

GM employees seem to be very good at designing cars that have huge mandatory recalls. Why not let them lose at Ford

I've worked at all of the former Big 3... And for the most part it's all the same - just different acronyms.

I guarantee some of the SIRPs went to GM. And yeah, some of the buyouts will come here.

It's like the poster below eluded to. Most of these people are very trainable and can learn new things. But these companies would rather keep firing the older / higher paid people and bringing in young, less experienced, lower paid labor. And if they really have their way - they'll just off shore as much of us as possible.

We would all be wise to make a plan and not expect to be 'safe' in any part of this company.

This makes no sense, if the jobs are being eliminated why would the other company's employees fill them?

I guess we can do the same when it’s our turn.

It’s not the GSR employees that are the problem at Ford. The lower level employees/LL just follow orders. It’s the bozo’s running the company and making all of the “stellar” decisions. Re-org after re-org, there is no stability in how the business is run. Ford Plus, Ford Blue, Model e, Industrial platform…who can keep track of who does what? Also, pi----g money away, Rivian, Argo, Train Station…just saying.

Many of them are Ford castoffs already. My neighbor was broomed from Ford in 2008 with a buyout and went to GM shortly after they came out of bankruptcy. Taking the GM now.
I know several others that did the same. GM was desperate and took all of Ford's problem children.

Ford does not want them, they are the same type of employees Farley says “don’t have the right skill set.”
