Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Toxic

This company is so toxic, unethical, and management/supervisors are very unqualified. Changing someones metrics and numbers is uncalled for. Thank goodness the director is gone, what will fill that isn't good either. Hopefully it will be someone with some ba--s. That isn't hopeful either.

I sometimes wonder how many people who post on this site actually have worked at optum? Most appear to just hate health care and the American workplace altogether.

Ah, another H1-B manager or HR rep here to save the day!

I'm a former employee of both Optum and UHC. The topic is spot on! I've also worked under both for a combined 20 years.... why did I put up with it you ask? I worked from home so when my kids came home I was at the house. I would take my lap top to the park, to the Doctor office anywhere... still work and enjoy my kids at the same time. Now that they are in college and OPTUM eliminated my job which is BS... I plan putting my time and effort into exposing all the corruption I can so hopefully it's better for those still there. Use them for what they're worth BUT always take care of yourself first!! Good luck and good riddance!!

When the top management is rotten you cannot expect any better in management levels beneath them. And even if new director/manager has b*lls, the top calls the shots. Get the heck out. Misery is optional!

It is exactly reason I want to resign and found a highly rated company to work that respects their employees. This company is messing with my mental health. It has nothing to do with American Healthcare.

@aew+1lOIpYb2- Per your closing statement - "Most appear to just hate health care and the American workplace altogether.". Are you implying all American healthcare and workplace are all the same? Discourage people from leaving and stick around to help the company to make more $$ for the top?- Reverse psychology never works. Staffs come into this forum cause they are dissatisfied. Continued to discount the valid concerns will not help to gain their loyalty.

The good ones with ethical values have been accused of impeding with “ time to market”- ;not a team player by management. Not a sustainable environment. If you lay low managed to stick around long enough- they will bring in younger cheaper labor “YES” worker.. this is why jobs are moved outside of USA - least path of resistance.. Sad. The top bringing in “unqualified” to prepare for “blames” = secure their own position with little or no effort.

True. Just look at the background of these leaders including legal: former Target and retail VPs, sales and marketing, IT geeks, etc. Zero experience in managing a business or employees or numerous regulations
