Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

So much pointless politics

Imagine how great this company would be without so much middle management that creates so many unnecessary layers of bureaucracy. We would be able to increase productivity by a third, at least. We would also be more efficient, considering that a whole bunch of people would be taken out of simple decision-making that doesn't require so many heads. I'm dreaming of a layoff that will solve this issue and cull the majority of middle management at BNYM.

It's funny how poorly managed the company is. Middle managers seem to just like to flex their muscles and continually interrupt us with their demands. They tell us to act like owners but expect us to blindly do exactly what we're told instead of questioning the cost/benefit of all the id--tic stuff they demand from us.
We barely have any plans for our systems and products much less a 1, 3, 5 and 10 year plan. We spend our time putting out fires instead of preventing them. They have us do estimates for projects and then cut the estimate in half and give us artificial deadlines all the while interrupting us when we're working on the project.

We have to think and be commercial , every Employee has to do it. Bny will add 3-4 layers of redundant middle management.
