Something very strange going on. Decision making authority is being pulled back to very high levels. Why are people so high in the company involved in such trivial details right now? It seems like everything has to be approved at a higher and higher level. What is driving the craziness?

Our company president asked some volunteers to solicit anonymous feedback from employees about ways to improve morale, productivity, culture and other factors. They genuinely wanted to know.
We collected the feedback (wfh flexibility, IT support issues, ranking, pay, time off, all of the normal stuff). When we shared the results, he got this sort of depressed look and said “there is nothing I can do about any of this”. Truly a shocking and sad moment.
Seems the only logical conclusion to your question is lack of trust for those in the lower levels.
If you think a sls ever had power, you are completely missing the point of this post.
Justifying their existence so they can outrun the incoming PIP Wagon.
Maybe they can pip the protected sls folks then
Two reasons:
- Most but not all sls are incompetent and lie
- micro management drink on power
This post is correct. DW is grabbing the reigns on everything that touches his ‘transformation.’
“Why are people so high in the company involved in such trivial details right now?”
Since you need to be told:
They’re all serial micro-managers.
