Thread regarding MetLife Inc. layoffs

Stuck in the past

Unfortunately, this company can no longer be said to be progressive.
Why is that so? Does our leadership think it is too risky if they let go of some outdated models or maybe they didn't even notice how stuck in the past this place is?

But wait, Professor's buzzword acronym of the year is OKRs..he read a book and like um this is our approach this year. Expect fancy PowerPoints to be published with every department's OKRs....it's the acronym that will propel the Company into greatness for sure.

@1dnc+1laS2jKe So many times I've had that happen to me in meetings. And what I'm suggesting isn't even novel; it's things other companies have been doing for 10+ years. But apparently that's too hard for Metlife to accomplish.

Smug. Insular. Greedy. Too afraid. Not in their DNA.

How long before the commitments to their shareholders are met?

When will they stop blowing smoke up $&@“ and be candid about everything?

Will there be layoffs in 2023? Where? What % of the workforce?

Employees are grown-ups.

Lol, exactly. I was told, you will see how we work here at Metlife in such an arrogant tone. I have a good laugh always remembering it.

I’ve been in meetings where people offer new ideas to be told-no this is how we always-have done stuff.

Anyone downvoting this is clearly leadership at metlife. Truth hurts.
