Haven't heard much. 2/2 was the big rumor before and then people said if not 2/2 it would be 2/16 but I haven't heard anything. What do you think?

Friend under vcg was just Rif'd They have been holding our merit increases until Friday. Looks like some of the rumors were true. :( Also we are doing yet another reorg.

Sadly, I think most of customer service will be riffed this week/ that includes operations. Everything has been slowly set up over time to move to 100% outsourced/vender for customer service. I think they are going to cut a TON of Care/ from the rep to director.
I think this is the big cost cutting move.
I'm in the Ghost Town (aka Basking Ridge) 2x a week and it has been empty until recently.
Tuesday is crowded but bec the place is so enormous, you only really know when you go to cafe between 12 and 2pm.
The EY guys were there in January (Ernest and Young consultants) so I'd expect something either now or in Oct again. Funny thing about the EY guys, they wear light grey EY vests...

Oct layoffs - in our group, we lost 2 minority males and 2 females so I'm not sure about the diversity retention. I worked with the 2 males and both were performers - one was an up and comer.
Has anyone heard in more detail about the Verizon layoffs tomorrow?
@pgo+1lcCRkrm Absolutely they would still give BPI info to people being laid off. 1) Holding that information from only certain people would be a giveaway as to who is getting laid off. 2) That's more money the company can claim/report in cost-savings.
Response to what I’ve heard… is that Indirect is being completely cut tomorrow. Everyone. I find that hard to believe, but we all know Hans won’t be happy until he’s completely destroyed this company. It would likely be outsourced or replaced with people that don’t know what they are doing like just every other position they have done this to. If that’s true it’s truly going to be a sh-t show and I’ll have my popcorn out waiting for that.

I'm an employee and I'm living the chaotic decision making from leadership right now. If they are not doing a rif tomorrow or over the next week or so, then they are really doing nothing to drive progress with a lack of real decision making. Based on that, I think something big is coming. Call it 'reading the tea leaves'.

Scroll through this page and you'll see someone post almost every week there is a rumor of a layoff. Get 52 blind monkeys in a room throwing darts and eventually one will hit a bull's-eye. I wonder if half the people speculating even work for Verizon versus are competitors or ex employees just trying to demotivate people?

No invites for tomorrow, not hearing much in the rumors in the workplace. Been very quiet on the boards. If they were going to do layoffs, do you think they would still provide BPI info if someone was going to be impacted? Doesn’t seem logical but who knows
