Bill Ford a Farley Fan. Calls him "Fantastic"

Anyone else think BF resembles the Captain of the Titanic?

Ford Authority:
Last year wasn’t exactly a good one for Ford Motor Company in terms of quality, as it ranked as the most recalled manufacturer of 2022. However, the automaker has taken steps to right the ship in that regard, and it seems as if Ford executive chair Bill Ford is seemingly pleased with the direction the automaker is heading in terms of those quality fixes, according to Reuters.

“We probably had so much focus on the future that perhaps we took our eye off the ball a little bit on the present,” Bill Ford said of the automaker’s past actions. “Jim’s got a full court press on it, and we’re already starting to see results.” Farley is a “fantastic CEO,” he added, noting that “this is the best leadership team in my memory. We’ve got plenty of resources to get done what we need to get done. And now we have to execute.”

Ford’s quality woes have been well-documented to this point, and aren’t necessarily limited to one specific area or vehicle. Rather, a number of issues have popped up in recent months, with a number of models being dinged for various teething problems. That list includes the Ford F-150 PowerBoost, which ranked as the least reliable vehicle in Consumer Reports most recently reliability survey, the Ford Mustang Mach-E and Ford Bronco Sport lost their recommended status, and the Ford Explorer ranked among the 10 least reliable vehicles, to boot.

As for Ford itself, the brand ranked well below average in the J.D. Power 2022 U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study and Consumer Reports‘ annual reliability study, suffering a substantial drop in both reports year-over-year. However, The Blue Oval has made several moves to rectify this ongoing issue over the past several months. Aside from simply taking actions to make quality a focus in its operations, Farley also brought in turnaround expert Josh Halliburton to be the company’s new executive director of quality. However, while Halliburton believes Ford’s quality woes will begin to subside this year, CEO Jim Farley isn’t quite as optimistic.

Lies, lies and politics. What else would you expect BF say to the media? Actions speak louder than words. If JF stays, then BF does love him. If he is gone in 9 months, then we know he was full of sh-t and was in the midst of finding a new CEO.

@bsy+1lcvCzBw keep drinking the KOOL AID. Nobody doubts the company needs to change. Why do we have more middle management than our cross town rival who is 3x our size just amazes me how they justify that.
As for DF as one poster put it. A long stint for him is 24 months. His resume is very thin. Does not stay any where very long.
JF. I still like to know what exactly has this guy done since Ford hired him? Our market share has shrunk, we left most of the car market. Our complexity has increased. Yet according to JF he is a legend in his own mind. Just goes to prove RANK does not mean you know what you are doing.
As for BF. Well the gene pool did him a big favor. Guy once again has demonstrated he is in over his head. This time JF nor DF are no Allan Mullaly to bail you out.
They all need to go.

I cannot believe what I read in these comments. I agree with everything Bill Ford is quoted as saying, we have the best leadership in the company's history. This news clip is an obvious attempt at a hit piece by Ford Authority.

Convenient the the author (or any of the commenters) mention by name the leadership the Bill is proud of. Doug Field alone is worth noting with his successes already with Model e and the Ford+ company transformation.

I guess we can all agree BF is a drinker for him to say, " Farley is a “fantastic CEO,” he added, noting that “this is the best leadership team in my memory. "

Omg! 2 words... Alan Mulally!! Smh...d-mb a$$! All aboard the Titanic...

Bill Ford: "this is the best leadership team in my memory."

How severe is his Alzheimer's? I mean, just in the past 6 years we have two awful "leaderships", but I'd prefer the "do nothing, know nothing furniture guy" than the current
"narcissist egomaniac sociopath car product guy".

Just history repeating itself. HF1 was delusional just like BF. Harry Bennet was HF1’s guy; he was a total a--hole like JF. Remember the guy who ordered thugs to beat up union organizers, that was Harry Bennet. It drove the family to take control away from HF1 because his brain was gone. Too many mistresses and anchored to what made him famous. I see many parallels; I hope the family has an uprising against BF.

Reminds me of the q&a I once saw regarding ENRON. The question to the CEO was are you on CRACK?
Both of them need to go. Quality has been an issue for some time. it did not just pop up. Been going on for sometime.
