Verizon Consumer Group. Got a text from my boss to join a quick meeting. Yeah, it was quick, was quickly laid off. Had only 3 1/2 years before early retirement. They waste $$ like crazy on wrong choices, schemes, promotions, old systems, inefficient people and processes. Then pay E&Y millions to tell them what they’re doing wrong, and cut off their nose to spite their face with some of the layoffs they’re doing… smh

Sounds like it continues to go downhill and people are still in constant fear all the time of these rifs. Makes me glad I took the voluntary separation package years ago. Loved the company when I was there, but the changes I've heard about are terrible.
@1hrn+1ld55tA9 they know how to get around the law. They have good attorneys and know how to circumvent laws against laying off older workers.

Yes they laid off a whole team and will try to make everyone fight for a few roles. The company has been going downhill for a while now so while this is no surprise it's still whatever for this tragic company. Best of luck to you all!

Few years before retirement here too. This company has been going downhill since Hans was appointed CEO. Look at how sh---y our network has become. POS is a utter failure and Directors and higher don’t give two sh--s. I hope everyone takes their money so we can all watch the ship go down. Best of luck!

I was an IAM and was laid off 2 years ago. It was just a matter of time before they eliminated the entire channel. Rest assured, there is life after Verizon. It was thought to go through when it happened but looking back 2 years, I’m glad it happened. I’m now with a cokk no pain that hasn’t had a post on thelayoff.com I’m 4 years. Verizon’s layoffs are twice per year every year, it’s ridiculous. And Hans is running the company straight into the ground.
