Ford's reliance on the UAW and overuse of plastic is what's ki-ling the company. Add into that all of the horrendous recalls and quality issues and it's not a good recipe.

Fix the quality, fix the design and fix the UAW and things would be 100x better.

Lots of mistakes being made by the incompetent leadership team, but the biggest upper level mistake was choosing Farley over Hinrichs!

Farley needs to be fired, but so does that id--t Bill Ford! Alan Mulally left this company in great shape and these 2 id--ts were among those tearing it all down!

This is the end my friend. Better to improve the companies products quietly. Like action speaks louder than words. The word that sits in peoples minds......We will phase out all affordable ice vehicles. We will tell you what you want or else! The truth be told Chriss Farley did not get along with his cousin because he was an as. hole....

@1riy+1ldyUtkB I’ll tell you why we can’t get a decent CEO. And this company works the same at all levels. When everyone is riding high and the money is rolling in the people who know their sh-t and how to fix problems are relegated to mediocre roles. When the sh-t hits the fan it allows people of different/ better skills to enter the foray and shine. Same analogy to the military: a peace time vs. a war time force is completely different. The draft brings in a much larger distribution of people as opposed to a right skew population of minus 3 sigmas. Think of the present Ford leadership as a right skew distribution in terms of capability. They award themselves with all kinds of titles, bonuses, etc for doing value subtracting work. Same in the military during peace time. The top brass have every participation medal possible stacked on their uniform. Nothing for combat or valor, just taking a training course. The way Ford is has been going on in many different walks of life long before it existed.

@1riy+1ldyUtkB because it is called the FORD FAMILY. The family never likes an executive that outshines the family. If they do they are shown the door. Alan lasted because instead of four family members holding the preferred stock you had like 25.
In the spring of 06 Billy was fired by his own family.
Alan was a total polar opposite of Billy. Engineer and competent. Vision simple plan everyone understood. Made Billy look like an id--t. People forget Alan was suppose to leave in 12/2015. But he left in 7/2014.
Farley is in way over his head. I still do not know what this guy has done? According to the legend himself he is a product or car guy. Really. Since he hired in the 2000's we lost market share and we left the car market with the exception of mustang. Again according to Legend he is a car guy.
JF has lost the trust of the troops. BF again has demonstrated in over his head. Lucky GENE POOL.

What sets Mary Barra apart from Farley? Is it her ability to make decisions? Is she surrounded by more competent execs? Is she herself more competent than Farley? She has been in the CEO role <10 years, but has already outlasted and outperformed Fields, Hackett, and Farley. Why can't we get a decent CEO?

Don't worry Bill does not remember his last failed CEO appointments and still hangs on the the Jac Nassar mantra that sales volumes don't matter, only profit margin per unit matter. If you sell fewer vehicles you make less money and you cannot go on increasing the price to make up for the lost revenue. Abandoning passenger cars was a mistake, because it turns away many customers who are either entry level buyers or live in a setting where an SUV is not practical.

Another unfounded hit piece against our leadership team. Don't fall for this negativity. Bill Ford is 100% behind our executive levels and has even recently stated it is the very best leadership lineup the company has ever had.

I've been saying that I give Farley to the end of 2023. He's in the public spotlight for all the wrong reasons & continuously tries to call out Tesla & Elon Musk. It looks childish, careless, and desperate. He won't admit to the engineering cost being higher because his team and marketing driving complexity. Instead he blames his employees and has transformed Ford into an embarrassment.

Also the article says: " Ford’s Lightning had several advantages as it entered the market. The gas-powered version of the F-150 has been the best-selling vehicle in America for four decades. There must be at least 6 million of them on the road today. The owners of these are a perfect target for the electric version of the pickup."

Clearly they don't understand that demographic. People who own trucks want to be able to tow & haul, not worry about charging & range. They want to be able to pack up the family and drive 4+ hours one way, without having to worry about range and charging. Farley believes Ford will be selling 2 million EVs a year in the coming years, that's utterly ridiculous and unrealistic. The prices are outrageous & most in the general public don't care about them or don't know enough to find them appealing.

Farley & Bill Ford need to step down.
