Unnecessary layoffs when we boast bonuses? Possibly

They're not related at all. The company start to do two things balance out employees and still keep employees. Don't be so narrow-minded, This is a huge company
Only reason for the layoff was the stock price and revenue per employee metric when compared to others. That’s it. Corey Anthony spoke about it in his townhall a couple months ago. We’ve had record years for the past couple. Last year we didn’t meet our targets and they had to make adjustments for us to get a bonus.
The company is in extreme debt. Cant afford payroll at higher interest rates when it borrows just to pay its employees. No leverage or collateral that anyone wants.
This sh-t was inevitable when the pandemic started.
I think we are paid very well.
A big problem with T is that the employment/pay structure which includes annual bonus payments is tied to legacy processes. Corporate hiring and pay structures have not kept up with the times. This is one reason T is dying a slow death.
