After almost a decade with this company I was laid off. I cant say I’m too surprised as this page has consistently kept us up to date with the latest rumors. It’s hard to fully describe how I feel as I’m mixed with anger, sadness and relief. Anger because I worked for this company and worked with so many people who were patiently waiting to be riffed while I constantly was on egg shells waiting for the call my position would be eliminated. Anger because their has been plenty of positions that have come up in which the reqs are already filled before people who are genuinely interested even get a chance to apply and here we are with a 30 day notice to find a job or figure it out. Sadness because I’ve spent close to a decade meeting and working with people who have painted the picture of this amazing company, promise of a career and preach work life balance only to encourage you to work harder, work longer and stress about going on vacation cause your workload doubled when you come back. Relief because the call I dreaded for so long that caused me stress, anguish and doubt finally came. No longer will I have to wait on this page to hear about potential lay offs and worry if the following Thursday is finally the day. I’ve watched people post about how there is a greener grass on the other side and I’m hoping that really is the case .However through and through this company did give me an opportunity to grow, learn, travel and experience things i could have never imagined. I am optimistic of the future and what is to come. To all of us affected today, sending positivity your way. This too shall pass

No integrity, no loyalty, no being the best. What Teamwork when you eliminate whole departments and close multiple store locations?
Look up the Verizon Credo and you’ll see it’s all smoke and mirrors. We’re all expendable to Verizon regardless of how safe you feel in your role. Leading vs Performing doesn’t save your job. Verizon now operates out of dozens of foreign countries to provide CS/Tech Support, BGCO Support, IT, Systems Support you name it. Corporate VCG will be a thing of the past one day.
The customers and brand perception will suffer the most here. Go compare Verizon stock to T-Mobile over the past 5 years. This is a poorly managed company and Hans is lost at sea. Reduce the millions that corporate executives make who don’t have a clue how frontline employees operate and keep jobs in America. This is corporate greed at its finest while keeping inept leaders on payroll where some are truly not qualified to even hold their position. Greed above the customer and most importantly the employees.
Corporate Social Media will be no more as of 3/17. Everyone else has to scramble for Tech Messaging positions hoping to find out in 30 days whether they are staying or not.
No, Social Media and Messaging reps will not be given other roles. You either apply to another position hoping you can even get an interview or take a severance package and your Verizon career comes to an end on 3/17/2023.
