Thread regarding Amazon.com layoffs

RTO as Per Andy

Announced today. Jassy saying on their learnings about WFH essentially:

"Ultimately they've led us to conclude that we should go back to being in the office together the majority of the time (at least 3 days a week)."

"We plan to implement this change effective May 1."

GTFO Andy. How many people did you hire that live nowhere near an office, and with a 'virtual location' attached to the 4 year comp plan provided.

Everyone at Amazon, please rage quit your current $500K comp Javascript-writing job at the Autistic Worker's Republic because you'll be forced to occasionally make eye contact with humans, however briefly. Then go search for a position somewhere else that will pay you as much and expect as little. Let us know how that works out. We're waiting.

Feels like just another way to get rid of headcount (but without paying severance). Force RTO and see how many will leave on their own.
