I'm currently a Citi employee on LTD, but got the request to meet with my boss and her boss on Tuesday. I was in the hospital, and couldn't make the request. I'm assuming I'm included in this layoff right? How does Citi notify their employees on leave they've been axed? Thought I had at least 52 weeks before they'd reach out and touch me. I'm so out the loop.

Marketing in consumer hit hard. The rest of consumer is a few here and there unless the entire function was folded. My guess is more coming in early q3 maybe sooner in targeted areas such as mortgage. If u are in a control function properly safe until q4 23 the soonest. They are also not filling positions when someone retired or leaves.
Bloomberg reported job cuts, but seem to have missed the mark. They say investment banking and mortgage, which I’m sure is true, but doesn’t mention all the cuts in AML, Marketing etc. Their estimate on #s therefore may be low.
people on the *corp heads up distribution just got notified. Meaning, notifying us that there's an impending article in bloomerg mentioning the job cuts ~1%

Layoffs were already happening quietly as early as jan. my team was impacted - MDs told me to keep in quiet lol

My manager got let go yesterday plus 8 more on our team. Loads of layoffs so far.
Hearing 20% of marketing. 5-6 % of Gonzalo’s Org overall. But not limited to consumer.
I find this hard to believe as there’s been plenty of managers posting time after time this is a false rumor, nothing to see here. Are you sure layoffs are happening?

The recession is going to be really bad for the middle and lower class. People are spending way faster than they are earning, mainly due to these rich-fux continuing to price-gouge us. People, like this CEO are ruining this country. Take back the power...Unionize. Good luck to those let go.

Don’t worry. Jane was able to get an extra 2 million $ to her annual pay. So when you look at it from that perspective everything is going to be ok.

I was let go on January 19 citi does not lay everybody off all at once that way press isn’t so bad as it doesn’t look as dramatic as Goldman

It's true. Across the board from what I can tell. Also heard this might continue, don't know for how long.
Always work towards having a year’s worth of salary in savings. Always network outside of work. Always up your skillset OUTSIDE of Citi’s unique needs. If a layoff happens, you don’t care as much as it won’t be as impactful and you’re ready to move on.
