Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Points mean nothing

You have associates that have 6 to 9 points for call outs and coming in late and nothing happens to them this is ridiculous I worked today from 4am to 4pm because our closer call out something needs to change.

You just don't have a backbone. I've fired multiple people for being right at 5 points.

This is universal at every Sam’s Club location. I would recommend that you look for another job as a big favor to yourself. Historically, this has been the case for decades. Because your boss's boss doesn't know you and couldn't care less what your boss says/threatens/does to you, it will never improve. “I don't care how you accomplish it, just do it”. If that means over working you and treating you like an animal, so be it. If you’re looking for change, management at Sam’s Club’s (any location) are simply not capable. Start actively looking for another job, your future self is begging you too.

This company doesnt promote good people to be managers. If managers dont follow most of the things listed by the other comment they will get fired or bullied into quitting. I have seen it happen. Most of the managers put everything off onto the leads. I have been a manager at another company and know how good management can be. I have seen good managers here, they all went on to better companies. At my club 2 of the mangers are horrible and 2 that actually try. One is new so dont know yet. Our problem is the store manager. He is horrible. We havent passed a walk in the 4 years he has been here. Seriously, not even one!

points are only there to get rid of the ones they dont like. i seen guys get 25+points. you start questioning managements ethics, they start prepping your exit interview at point 4

I don't put in for manager because I would get fired. I would not lie to associates. I would not cheat the associates. I would not play favorites. I would not hide information from them that would make their lives easier. I would not say something came from home office when it did not. I would not bad mouth associates to other associates. I would steal from associates, I would not threaten associates. I would not promote undeserving people. I would not purposely overload individuals as punishment for standing up to me. I would not try to steal an associates sense of self worth. I would not be like a whiny kindergartener when I don't get my way. I would not complain about how home office treats me and then to the exact same things to the associates. etc etc etc... and these are just some of the reasons I might get fired for if I were a manager. And YES almost ALL managers do at least some of the above things. I have never met one single one who did not. If I became a manager and behaved like a real man not only would home office not like me but the other managers in the building would soon find a way to to get rid of me because my very presence would make their lying cheating despicable butts feel guilty and supremely uncomfortable.

Dont stay late. Managers dont care about this place. Why should you? The vast majority of managers make way too much money to sit around, hide, and tell the people actually working that they aren't doing enough. Leave on time and let them do the job.
