Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Intel and the US Chips Act

seeing the CBS program below , notice at the end, the key data point that there are currently 14 chip companies planning or breaking ground on 22 new semi manufacturing plants which will qualify for Chips Act subsidies…..the idea that Intel is going to get massive money from the Chips Act is a myth - divide the 60 billion approx by the amount of investments, Intel will take a few billion off the table at most …. unless the Chips Act increases subsidies significantly. Meh !

Yea when I saw one of them trying to make bank from real estate listings instead of lobbying, I figured the degree of incompetence. Europeans love to think they made it yet they don’t have enough bullets. Barely enough, food, heating and water in some places.

I know a few of those lobbyists , Grades 10-12 so paid the same as same Grades …. take it from me, apart from Bruce Andrews, they are largely incompetent, just talking heads , esp in Europe

Intel is one of many, sadly handouts can’t fix a broken strategy, failed execution and marginal talent.

Other companies have nothing to worry about

Very true, not much will be left if you divide it too much. Compare this to other locations governments where they pick up the whole tab and the workforce cost is 1/2 to 1/5 of the states... Guess it will come down to how restrictive the clauses are on the chip act to see if it disqualifies any of those multiple new site. Intl will be lucky to see more than $5billion from this. But maybe as they are the instigators of it as well as the Ohio plant they will get closer to $15billion of the funding.

Will be an interesting space to watch. Bet those lobbyist are paid well.
