Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

VZ in financial straights?

I went to turn on my tv this morning and found out vz cut off my service without warning, iti appears I was 32 days delinquent because the company stopped sending paper bills last month for some reason, I certainly didn’t request that, anyway vz must be really desperate for cash at this point to be cutting off 20 year FIOS customers, not a good look for vz but good for the cord cutter beneficiaries

I always find it comical that people assume that just out of the blue a company stops sending bills. It couldn't possibly be the trash USPS that didn't deliver the bill to you huh? Regardless if you receive a bill or not, you're still obligated to pay for the service provided to you and that you used. Take some personal responsibility, you know you have this bill to pay every month. It's no one's responsibility to remind you to pay your bill, however Verizon does send out more than enough reminders that your bill is due to help you avoid having a service interruption.

You have to admit talking about rifts, layoffs, firings day after day can get depressing, negative, etc

This website is diminishing in relevance month over month. Then, you see it has devolved into Scooter crying because he feels he doesn't need to pay his bill. Just great.

So let me get this straight….Verizon shut your service off because you didn’t pay the bill!?!?! Where do they get off? What’s next, we have to pay back student loans!?!? Pay your bills Peter Pan.

Take some responsibility for yourself, OP. Verizon employee and customer here. Whenever I've been late on my bill I've gotten multiple notices by email and my service has never been cut off. Verizon has plenty of problems but this is a you problem.

You're fired as a customer, OP!! As a low paid CS rep I am not paid enough to deal with d-mb azz customers like yourself that can't bother to read they own email before complaining.

The condescending, arrogant attitude of some VZ employees on this thread are a great example of why the company is in the shape it's in.

I too like to receive a paper bill, hold it in my hand and mail off a check to make sure I paid. It’s like my birthday every month. I however, received several harassing phone calls from a woman who sounded like that fat man with glasses on that show “family man”. She informed I was late then I let her know that I didn’t get a bill so I didn’t pay, I assume if I don’t get a bill you don’t have to pay. So I called customer service and the agent was Malaysian or Philippino. Anyway she said “ by the way” a lot even at seemingly inappropriate times. I felt like I was watching Maria on Fox News which gave me solace.I let her know I could care less about my children or grandchildren’s future and I want a paper bill or I will switch to a company who can give me service with a paper bill. I’m paying for a imax pro apple, iPad and a laptop and my smart refrigerator. I love and having trees cut down and mail trucks driving just for me! Just my two cents.

Pay all of the bills at the same day at the end of the month and you will be fine. Set a reminder, for example last Saturday of the month.

Besides signing up for auto pay, you can have ALERTS set up to email you or send a text mssg your bill is due in 5 days, 7 days, etc. NO EXCUSE for people like you

Coming from a CS rep with VZW. Verizon will not cut off your services unless you're 30 days past due, so you have a past due on top of your current bill. Also if you signed up for auto pay then that requires paper free billing in order to receive the discount. You definitely had to of received communications. Search your email.

Too bad they didn’t cut off your internet so that you couldn’t make this bogus post

OP makes no sense. If any company is desperate for cash, they'll do everything they can within reason to keep a customer and work with them to help them get current with bills.

no one is shut off without warning, a notice/warning is always sent at least 10 days in advance to give u a chance to pay or make arrangments.

Read the text and email notifications that Verizon sends. For anyone not paying by mailing checks in, paper bills were no longer being sent by default. Verizon sent notifications giving anyone who wanted to keep the paper the option keep it, just had to let them know by clicking the link in the email/text.
