Thread regarding Change Healthcare layoffs

New Emplyeer..Background/credit check...hmmm

Find it very interesting (not really) that Change employees are being referred to as legacy and NEW employees...huh. I didn't quite my job. I don't care how it gets explained, I am not a new employee. When McKesson, CHC and a private investment firm created a new company that was branded CHC no background/credit check was required. Just because Change merged with the devil doesn't make me a new employee. They use the term transitioned and NEW interchangeably when it suits UAG.
My point, running an indepth background/credit check is just another way to find reasons to get rid of employees and not pay severance packages. There will be collateral damage that comes from this bull%&#$ UAG is pulling. Again, I didn't quite my job and I am NOT a new employee.

They did not run a credit check on me, nor any of my 8 direct reports.

Someone mentioned they wasn't going to run your credit… they did. Why? You don’t need to run a credit check for criminal history. The lies continue….

No dr-g tests. Just basic criminal background check. No big deal. It doesn't matter if you're called a new employee, legacy, transitioned etc. Just be happy to have a job as many do not as of today.

If you go to the Optum transition site, it says the background check is criminal, ss# check and then licensure verification for those who hold them (RN, PA, NP, MD, etc). Does not say anything about a credit check.

This is a tough and stressful time, so hoping this helps take some stress away.

I've been through several mergers with different companies over the years and this is pretty normal stuff.

Background check and dr-g test are the norm and I'm ok with it. I don't see why a credit check is necessary.

Background checks aren't just for new employees where you are going. They do it annually for all employees.

It is making me sick my stomach. Truly just a number making UHG billions dollars. I lost my title, everything I was crawling up the latter for, now higher premiums, lost my exempt status, lost a weeks pay of which I have no idea how I am going to make up for, l feel lied too and all anyone says in leadership is our hands are tied…they are not tied just don’t want to push for what is right and all eyes go on you as the leader. I’m so upset that as a CEO Neil failed us but was he ever really on our side. Why do some departments get bonuses and like ours we do not..why isn’t a bonus company wide? We are facing hard times with massive inflation. Change Healthcare could have done something for us but the board and Executive team did not I assure you with their massive bonuses and stock options. It’s sickening and hope for their sake never have to wonder how their mortgage or light bill is going to be paid. Be honorable, be courageous but this is wrong. Do you know what could have been given if just even the CEO or CFO or board took a 15% reduction in salary/bonus? Everyone would have had a generous bonus but greed wins. Not in my life it won’t as soon as I can find something I’m out and never looking back.

Personally, I don't see an issue with the background check. My department was expecting it. If you don't have anything negative in your history, there shouldn't be concerns, IMO.

The worry for my department is RIF based on overlapping positions, differences in benefits, etc.
