Been here 10 years. The last 6 months have been unbelievably Nagy. Every day is more toxic than the last. I’ll be gone the minute I accept a new job. Sad really, I thought this would be where I stayed till I retired. But my health and wellbeing must come first.

Can you get severance pay if you been with the bank for a year and a half?
People with the words "Risk" and "Manager" in their title literally do not know a mathematical definition of risk. You can imagine how productively they spend CAPEX dollars.
The “benefits” listed below are exactly what I have now, after leaving USB. Other places have good benefits, too (and actually the HSA/401k match is much better where I am now.) There’s light at the end of the tunnel - best of luck in finding something that will work better for you!
Union culture is far worse, be somewhat thankful.
TOS has some of the worst managers around. They have no clue how to build effective teams, improve processes or identify talent. They are just puppets.
Are they up your a** about cobrowse non stop? So sick of it.
To the person listing the "benefits", these are the basics you should expect anywhere. Nothing special there.
TOS is a huge mess thanks to incompetent middle management. They never respect or understand the value of SMEs, organic, or Legacy knowledge. Everyone is looking for the exit. So many miserable people.
I’m an exempt employee who now has to get permission to schedule a doctor appointment. That’s what the focus is on? Someone taking a couple hours for a doctor appointment? Seriously?
I worked at USB as a full time employee during the Richard Davis years and recently came back as a contractor. What on Earth happened to this company?!? I don't know of anyone that enjoys working here. Every single person I talk to that I worked with previously is counting down until they can retire. Whatever product model this is cannot be abandoned fast enough. It's nothing but a revolving door of contractors (myself included) in India and here in the US. No one has any legacy knowledge of systems and they are all building shiny objects with no regard for the long term sustainability of the code. Thank goodness I am only contracting so I can move on, but what a sad, dying place this has become. I see very clearly why Warren Buffett cashed out.
Benefits working for USB:
- Decent health benefits for employees plus family
- A Yearly Pension
- Matched 401 K
- PTO
- Weekends Off
- 11 days Paid Bank Holidays
I don't know anyone who thinks of the bank as a destination job anymore. Everyone is looking for an exit.
I've known several people said the same thing and either quit or took an early retirement.
