In my opinion, it is quite an incomprehensible move and time will show how much harm has been done to the company. How can one make sense of cutting the institutional knowledge that this place desperately needs? On the other hand, I think we all saw these cuts coming and prepared accordingly.

Who requires institutional knowledge when it’s already been determined that every app on every platform will be turned over to Google Cloud.

who cares about great employees and knowledge? In this compnay it is all about numbers and how nicely you kiss as--s. Most of the managers and Principal engs are cluelessness if you ask them questions. They dumped all work on engineers: eng should understand what to do, write stories to themselves, do the work, test it. Manager will just shift from Completed to Accepted. If you get stuck they will blame you.
