Thread regarding 3M layoffs

Don't trust HR

I know this is probably common knowledge but I need to reiterate it once again: HR is not your friend. They're nothing more than marionettes dancing on the strings of the CEO and Board of Directors. If you think they have your best interests in mind, you are delusional. They're just there to make the company look good and to keep the bigwigs happy. They do that by sweeping any problems under the rug. Don't trust HR as far as you can throw them.

The question from a male HR manager when I mentioned I was attacked by a coworker on a business trip…..’What we’re you wearing?’

Really HR as a function has deteiorated to being am extended arm of the 3M ly--h mob. I hate to approach in 3M. Rather get a painful rootcanal them to consult them for any topic, where you get any level of support personal or to handle org and employee discussions.
Its an org only to eaves drop on you. So avoid them.

I'm in management. Don't trust HR. In the end, only managers who care will look after their team. And there are not many managers like that anymore. Such a sad state of affairs.......

I don't think I ever interacted with anybody from HR besides first day paperwork stuff. I had zero interaction with them when I quit either. No exit interview or anything. They seem to come out from their caves when Monish and Tireman tell them to bring the guillotine out.

Regional HR are pretty much 3m attorneys that just protect the company instead of doing their job and helping employees with real issues. Absolutely disgusting.

👋🏻Hi! I would agree with Angry Boomer.

Our HR is at the root of the toxicity trolled out here. Current employee body count is <0.01% of all the employees we have hired over our glorious history. Seems like 88% have had negative and unfulfilling career experiences and expectations! Nothing being done about it.

I decided to work here because it is annually ranks highly as one of the best places to work. I felt duped.

🙋🏼‍♀️Agreed!
Thank you for the timely reminder!

Our HR is 80% women.
The one and only DEI initiative that achieved victory.

I mean, HR is every employee’s first and last engagement with 3M. We deserve better than this!
