“I’ve relocated 6 times since a I’ve been here. One time voluntarily and 5 times because of surpluses.”

What was your experience with the company relocation package? Did it cover most expenses?

I’ve relocated 6 times since a I’ve been here. One time voluntarily and 5 times because of surpluses. It’s a tough decision to move, especially if none of those places are appealing to you or your family. Speaking from experience, it will likely cause family rifts, divorces, unhappiness and stress if you do decide to move.

Although I now have enough seniority to not have to worry about layoffs every 3 months, it kind of feels like I sold my soul to the devil just to maintain my employment here. Before you make the choice to move, make sure you are really prepared for the consequences.

I am part of the 15% who have to move. We had our call yesterday and no relo assistance. If we don’t go they said there is no severance but we are likely eligible for unemployment benefits. They will “work with us” on the timing.

Yep, it is a company wide mandate. There will be 2 designations. One with 3-5 days in the office and the other 1-5 days a month. Your designation will be determined by your immediate chain of command. The concept of hubs / core locations is back. What the impact will be to those outside these 8 locations is to be determined/ discussed with each individual. My guess is some will be expected to relocate. You will have time to do so.

I am looking forward to seeing a thread for all the people on this board that have said stuff like “ I have been working from wherever for 20 years….” And they can kiss my a$$ I am never going in to the disgustingly , filthy…. (Not sure how they know the state of the office if they have not been there in2 decades). You know who I am talking about - the keyboard bangers in this site….good luck to that group.

Sorry for typos typing corporate BS talking points is tough.

3-5 days in office. Now it depends on how your boss wants to look on the report.

Per Stankey- “we want you here, but you have to make a personal decision if this is what YOU want.”

Take note: the “global protect “ login replacing AnyConnect auto logs you into the corporate network as you get in range (in the building). This is part of the “tracking “. AnyConnect retires end of June.

So many posts about RTO policy and relocation discussed in meetings.

Not one person felt the need to mention a VP, org or anything describing where these changes are being implemented. I don’t doubt some changes are going to be made, but why post stuff like this with not the smallest bit of info about org, location, who said what, etc.

Unbelievable the amount of stress I see people having over this. What a weak workforce you people are. No wonder T is racing to the bottom…

It’s pretty simple…. You will do as you are told or you will leave the company.

“ Office metric report”

This is an actual report. It currently looks at two data points, badge swipes and LAN connection. My entire org uses it already and it has been proven to be accurate.

I encourage you not to believe it’s an actual report because the more of you that get fired, the greater chance that those that want to be here don’t get surplused.

“Most people I know that go into the office show up at 9 and leave by 3 to beat the traffic. Will this behavior continue as long as you show up for a few hours 3x week?”

If you want the shorter hours appearing in your in office metrics report, go for it!

No, those that are not able to relocate are not eligible for severance. This is the game plan to reduce headcount, natural attrition.

Did everyone get an email or just have your boss say “Hey, jump on a call real quick?”

For those that got the call today with the RTO 3x per week message, did they happen to say how long you need to be there on those 3 days? Asking for a friend. Most people I know that go into the office show up at 9 and leave by 3 to beat the traffic. Will this behavior continue as long as you show up for a few hours 3x week?

They aren’t forcing everyone to a hub but they are forcing some people based on their particular job role into hubs.

This is all BS. Sorry, it is. They just renovated offices near me. No way they are forcing people to a “hub”.

Two office statuses - FTW (10% based on role only, 1-5 days in office per mo), remainder FTO (3-5 days in office per wk).

Two hubs for most positions - Dallas or Atlanta. If you’re not in a core hub and your team function isn’t dedicated in one of the other 7 cities, you’re either moving or leaving. Designations go into effect July 10.

This is not a drill.

Those who have been told to relocate what org are you in and how long do you have to relocate?

by

Post ID: @oqz+1mDh97WD

Just got off our call. No more flex worker. 10% of team can be FTW, balance of team, 90% will be FTO. All team members must relocate (if not already reporting to a hub location) to a hub location. Hub locations are Dallas, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Seattle, Bedminster, St Louis, DC, and San Ramone. Must move by end of July 2023. No relocation money is available. FTO in office 3 days per week, FTW in office 1 day per week.

RTO Benefits (already doing this once a week anyway currently):

  1. Work strict hours to avoid morning and afternoon traffic. In the door at 7:45am and out the door at 5pm sharp. No exceptions.
  2. Take both 15min breaks (morning and afternoon)
  3. Water cooler/Shop talk with peers and colleagues (Collaboration-LOL)
  4. Take full lunch (1 hour) away from reporting location (No working thru lunch)

I'm salary BTW. I'm not more productive in the office. Probably a little less productive because of distractions from co-workers and passerby's. Doesn't really matter as corporate can't tell if I'm really more or less productive because all they are doing is enforcing whether I'm in the office or not. Their perception is that "In the office" = Must be working.

What is Stankey and his minions trying to do?
DESTROY MORALE!
Even "BLUE CHIPPERS" are being negatively impacted. Move to a hub city by July 2023, are they NUTS?
There goes the neighborhood!

I heard if you don't report to either Dallas or Atlanta in person by 5 pm on Wed. May 17 2023 with a g-y pride flag, your company pc will explode at midnight that day. Good grief.

10% of your group can be Fulltime Telecommute. "Flex Worker" is gone. 90% of your team will be designated as Fulltime Office. You will office out-of Dallas or Atlanta. If you are not in these cities, you can read between the lines.

This is ridicules! It's time to call Stankey's bluff. I freely admit Stankey may catch an punish a few, no way he can catch everyone defying his policy. In his defence, he just hasn't thought through this RTO policy.
Remember they have to catch you first, that's a tall order. Stankey loves to play the cat and game, it's right down his alley. He despises rank and file employees!

Is that what people are calling it these days? Collaborating with yourself. Wink wink nudge nudge.

It is different for different orgs and job roles guys. Some teams they want centrally located and others it doesn’t matter. The business unit level 6 executive decides based on the role whether required in a strategic city or not. You just need to wait to find out what YOU are being asked to do. No use worrying before then.

This is not a lie at all just had our VP tell us on a call. It might be different for different orgs but we just got told this. We have to go to Dallas or if we can’t have to report to Atlanta, Seattle, Bedminster, Saint Louis, DC, Los Angeles, or San Ramon. Believe me or not we just literally had our conference call.
