Thread regarding Kaiser Permanente layoffs

Warn Notice Attached to My Severance Package

I just received this Warn Act Notice as a part of my severance package. Per Wikipedia a Warn Notice is issued when there are mass layoffs:

This notice is to inform you, pursuant to the Worker Adjustment and Retraining
Notification Act (“WARN”) and California Labor Code section 1400, et seq., that Kaiser
Foundation Hospitals intends to lay you off permanently as a result of the elimination of your position. We anticipate that the layoff will take place at the end of the sixty (60) day notification period, which begins today, and that your employment with Kaiser
Foundation Hospitals will end at that time. You may not displace other employees who
were not selected for participation in this layoff event. For further information or questions pertaining to these layoff matters, please contact your HR Consultant directly.

This is from the Department of Labor: The Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act helps ensure advance notice in cases of qualified plant closings and mass layoffs.

I've heard a few others mention a severance. How large is the layoff?
