We've got way too many useless managers with too few direct reports hanging around, and it's high time we trimmed the fat. Let's focus on cutting down those bloated layers of unnecessary management. That's where serious change needs to happen if we want to streamline things and get efficient.

My observation is Seagate does a better job cutting out useless managers during these layoffs than - say - Maxtor ever did. Agree on too many managers, but many are producers as well - just given a job title that suits their egos more than a needed company role.
“ Not one manager or higher thought it was a bad idea to sale drives to Huawei.”
All the people who said no are no longer here dude.
No to illegal sales in China.
No to betting the farm on HAMR.
No to borrowing to buy back stock.
No to increasing the dividend till it hurts.
Plenty of people said no, but the BDF at the top doesn’t listen to anyone.
Not one manager or higher thought it was a bad idea to sale drives to Huawei.
Let's? Implies "we" as in you're somehow involved in company direction and strategy? Seriously dude! You're a peon ... get to work and stop complaining.
Sounds like you should be in management with 2 direct reports to solve all the problems.
